Brief info

I am Katya Compagno, a Maltese educator with 25 years of experience. My teaching journey has deepened my commitment to education as a tool for empowerment.

My passion for travel has enriched my worldview but also strengthened my appreciation for Malta’s culture, heritage and wellbeing. Living and working overseas not only broadened my horizons but also instilled in me a sense of responsibility to contribute towards Malta’s progress.

Hearing young Maltese express frustration and a desire to leave our island for good, is disheartening. However, I firmly believe that through collective action, including participation in political groups and NGOs, we can propose solutions to tackle these challenges and improve our quality of life. One critical issue that demands urgent attention is domestic violence, a pervasive problem that undermines the safety and well-being of many in our society. By advocating for stronger support systems and policies, I am committed to raising awareness and contributing to efforts aimed at combating this issue.

My priorities are education, environmental sustainability, and social justice - pillars of a thriving society. Through team efforts, I aim to inspire a positive change and contribute towards a better future for my country and for the many good citizens living here.
