Momentum Reports Further Theft of Election Banners in St Julian’s
Momentum has reported further thefts of its election banners from St Julian’s, marking the second such incident in just two days, only days before the election.
This repeated targeting of campaign material is unacceptable and undermines the democratic process and the right of political parties to campaign freely and peacefully.
Momentum calls for prompt action by the authorities to investigate these incidents thoroughly. Given that there are public CCTV cameras installed in the area, the party expects the authorities to identify those responsible without delay.
Momentum reiterates that political intimidation and vandalism have no place in a democratic society.
Momentum Tirrapporta Aktar Serq ta’ Banners Elettorali f’San Ġiljan
Momentum irrapportat aktar serq ta’ banners elettorali tagħha minn San Ġiljan, fit-tieni inċident fi spazju ta’ jumejn biss, ftit jiem qabel l-elezzjoni.
Dan l-attakk ripetut fuq materjal ta’ kampanja huwa inaċċettabbli u jmur kontra l-proċess demokratiku u d-dritt tal-partiti politiċi li jagħmlu l-kampanja tagħhom b’mod liberu u paċifiku.
Momentum qed titlob lill-pulizija sabiex tieħu azzjoni immedjata u tinvestiga dawn l-inċidenti b’mod serju. Fid-dawl tal-fatt li fiż-żona hemm cameras pubbliċi tas-CCTV, il-partit jistenna li dawk responsabbli jiġu identifikati mingħajr dewmien.
Momentum terġa’ tisħaq li intimidazzjoni politika u vandaliżmu m’għandhomx post f’soċjetà demokratika.
