Momentum expresses solidarity with protest against the proposed planning regulations
Momentum stands in full solidarity with Ġustizzja għal Artna activists and the citizens camping outside Parliament in their peaceful call for a fairer, better and sustainable planning legislation. At this critical moment, we believe Malta has a real opportunity to strengthen our planning framework so that it protects communities, respects our environment, and serves the long-term wellbeing of our country.
We remain inspired by the dedication of civil society organisations who work tirelessly for the common good. Peaceful, organised actions such as the ongoing protest in Valletta are a powerful reminder that democracy thrives when people come together with hope, determination, and a shared vision for a better future.
Dr Matthew Agius said: “Momentum encourages members of the public to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with activists in defence of our environment, our communities, and our quality of life. We urge all those who care about Malta’s future to attend tomorrow’s protest – Ġustizzja għal Artna: Flimkien, Inwaqqfuhom! – in Valletta at 5:30 PM, meeting in front of the Law Courts before marching toward Parliament.”
Momentum believes that collective action can bring about meaningful change. With unity, courage, and optimism, our communities can help shape a planning system that truly reflects the aspirations of the Maltese people.
