Momentum expresses solidarity with Omar Rababbah

Omar Rababbah is contesting the election with the PL.

We believe that he has chosen a party that has forgotten its Labour roots and whose leaders are more intent on acting arrogantly and with impunity.

However, it is appalling and scandalous that Rababbah has been subjected to various racial and religious slurs on facebook, including even from PL supporters.

Arnold Cassola, Momentum Leader and Candidate in the 9th and 10th Districts, stated: “Even though he is a political adversary, Rababbah has every right to contest elections with the party he supports. The only requisite needed is Maltese citizenship, and he has it. Racial origins or religious beliefs have nothing to do with all this. A functioning democracy allows full political and religious liberty to its citizens, irrespective of their family’s original country of origin. All political leaders should remind their supporters on the real meaning of tolerance and solidarity”
