Momentum candidates take to the streets following initial campaign interference
Momentum candidates were out in force across the streets of Malta this weekend, conducting a series of discussions in Birkirkara, Luqa, Mosta, Swieqi and Siġġiewi.
The outreach comes at a pivotal moment as Momentum continues to challenge the established duopoly. Despite recent attempts by the Cleansing Department to remove party signage and silence our message, the public response has been the opposite of what the authorities intended.
During the visits, volunteers distributed the Momentum newspaper, which outlines the party’s core pillars of good governance, a just economy, and a commitment to restoring the aesthetic and environmental beauty of our islands.
The party has seen a significant increase in small-scale donations following the recent interference. These funds have been instrumental in keeping our teams on the road and ensuring our literature reaches every household.
Momentum’s General Secretary, Mark Camilleri Gambin, noted the shift in the public mood during the visits: “The attempt to silence us through the Cleansing Department has backfired. People are tired of the petty tactics used to protect the status quo. This weekend we saw a genuine desire for a centrist alternative that puts the citizen before the partisan machine. We are incredibly grateful to the donors who stepped up this week to ensure our voice remains loud and clear.”
Momentum remains committed to its presence on the ground. The conversations held in the squares, streets and homes reinforce our belief that Malta is ready for a third way. Our team will continue these visits throughout the month, focusing on direct engagement and the promotion of a more beautiful, transparent Malta.
