Cassola requests probe into Minister Refalo’s use of public funds
Arnold Cassola has asked for an investigation into Gozo Minister Anton Refalo.
This follows a report alleging the Minister used public funds to provide free food for a private fundraising dinner in his own political district; Zebbug, Gozo.
Cassola stated that using public money for a private event in a minister’s own constituency could be a corrupt practice and must be investigated.

Ghaziz Kummissarju Azzopardi,
The shift news qed jirrapporta li “A traditional annual fundraising dinner, organised in the small village of Zebbug, Gozo, on the occasion of the feast of Santa Marija, went much better than usual for its organisers as most of the food, including pork and chicken, as well as its cooking and serving, was all provided free of charge, courtesy of Gozitan Agriculture Minister Anton Refalo”.
Jidher li dawn il-fondi hargu minn Dipartiment tal-Gvern.
Waqt li jaf tkun haga tajba kieku l-Gvern jisponsorizza festi tradizzjonali, dana ghandu jkun ghal kull rahal u mhux biss ghall-irhula li qeghdin fid-distrett tal-Ministru.
F’dan l-ahhar kaz, din tista’ tkun corrupt practice. F’demokraziji normali, mhuwiex aċċettabbli li Ministru jħallas għall-ikel ta’ attività privata esklussivament fid-distrett tieghu b’fondi pubbliċi.
Nitolbok tinvestiga l-kaz.
Tislijiet,
Arnold Cassola
