Thousands of people filled the streets of Valletta yesterday with  clear messages: Malta wants justice and no impunity

Arnold Cassola, leader of Momentum said “The government cannot ignore the thousands who came together peacefully to demand the truth about who was responsible for the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia, and to demand that every serious allegation made under oath during the trial is properly and independently investigated.”

Yesterday, thousands of people showed that even though shocked and disappointed but yet they have not given up. Now the government and our institutions must show that they have not given up either.

Cassola highlighted “The court heard serious allegations concerning people who held positions of political and institutional power. These allegations must not simply disappear when the trial ends. They must be investigated, and if evidence establishes criminal responsibility, those responsible must face justice.

The same applies to officials and senior figures whose dealings with Yorgen Fenech have raised serious questions. No public position, political connection or business relationship should place anyone above the law.”

We call on those responsible to come forward, and on every institution meant to serve the public to do its duty without fear or favour. Malta has waited long enough.

Momentum insists that Malta deserves the truth. Malta deserves accountability. Malta deserves justice. And the people of Malta will continue to push, ask questions and demand it until justice is served.
