Momentum Executive meets with the President of Malta, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono
The Momentum Executive met with the President of the Republic, Myriam Spiteri Debono, at St. Anton’s Palace. During this meeting, the members of the Momentum Executive explained to the President the objectives of the organization and emphasized the basic principles and values of Momentum itself.
It was noted that the Constitutional article on protection from discrimination should also include a reference that there should be no discrimination based on the age of the individual. Several other topics were also discussed at the meeting, including the change in the electoral law that would give more space to smaller parties and thus further broaden the participation and representation of citizens.
The discussion also included an evaluation of how Maltese society is evolving, the application of good governance principles, including transparency and fairness.
The members of the Momentum Executive present were: Chair: Arnold Cassola, General Secretary Mark Camilleri Gambin, Treasurer Carmel Asciak, and Committee members Katya Compagno, Sumaya Ben Saad, and Matthew Agius.

L-Eżekuttiv ta’ Momentum iltaqa’ mal-President tar-Repubblika, Myriam Spiteri Debono, fil-Palazz ta’ San Anton. Waqt din il-laqgħa, il-membri tal-Eżekuttiv ta’ Momentum spjegaw lill-President l-għanijiet tal-organizzazzjoni u enfasizzaw il-prinċipji bażiċi u l-valuri tal-istess Momentum.
Inġibdet l-attenzjoni illi hemm bżonn li l-artiklu Kostituzzjonali dwar protezzjoni minn diskriminazzjoni jkun jinkludi wkoll riferenza li m’għandux ikun hemm diskriminazzjoni abbażi tal-età tal-individwu.
Fil-laqgħa ġew diskussi wkoll diversi temi oħra, fosthom it-tibdil fil-liġi elettorali li jissarraf f’aktar spazju lill-partiti ż-żgħar u b’hekk iwessa’ aktar il-parteċipazzjoni u r-rappreżentanza taċ-ċittadini.
Id-diskussjoni kienet tinkludi wkoll evalwazzjoni ta’ kif qed tevolvi s-soċjetà Maltija, t-tħaddim ta’ prinċipji ta’ governanza tajba, fosthom it-trasparenza u l-korrettezza.
